Jobless Lotto winner
NZPA-AAP Sydney An unemployed 20-year-old Newcastle woman has been found as the winner of Monday’s sAust3 million ($3.8 million) Lotto prize, the largest payout in New South Wales history. Lotto organisers began searching for the winner on Tuesday when no-one came forward to claim the prize. The woman, who did not want to be named, did not realise she had won until Tuesday afternoon although she watched Monday evening’s draw, a Lotto spokesman said yesterday.
“I got the six numbers but I didn’t click I had won,” she told Lotto representatives. “I thought you needed the supplementary number as well.”
Although she had no firm plans for her money she had one purchase in mind — a BMW convertible.
The woman, who lives with her parents, has been unemployed since December last year when she completed a secretarial course.
