Red Cross change The Red Cross in Christchurch is now part* of a new Canterbury-West Coast region in a pilot scheme to test regionalisation for the future restructuring of the New Zealand Red Cross Society. The Canterbury-West Coast region officially started on September 1, and brings together the Red Cross centres of North Canterbury, Ashburton, Geraldine-Temuka, Timaru, Waimate, Hokitika, Greymouth and the Buller branch. The Red Cross hopes to increase its activities and membership through the new structure.
