Goldcorp inquiry
PA Wellington The Minister of Police, Mr Douglas, said yesterday it was still too early to assess how long it would take to complete the investigation into the collapse of Goldcorp. The Opposition justice spokesman, Mr Paul East, asked in Parliament why it was taking so long to conclude the investigation. Mr Douglas said a receiver was appointed on July 11 last year and a meeting was subsequently held between the police and the corporate fraud squad of the Justice Department. > . The department contracted the investigation to a Queen’s Counsel, who subcontracted it to,-a firm of private investigators. On May 25 this year the fraud squad handed it to the police. ;
