‘Ancient’ jar netted
Italian fishermen have netted a huge, perfectly preserved earthenware jar, thought to date back to ancient Roman times, archeologists said. The 1.60 m-tall jar was found in the nets of a boat fishing off the coast of Gaeta in south-west Italy. It was probably used to carry oils, wines or cereals. — NZPA-Reuter.
