Tait placing ‘laughable’
Mr Angus Tait, a radio electronics manufacturer listed in “Personal Investor” as Christchurch’s secondrichest man and the twenty-eighth richest in New Zealand, said yesterday the magazine’s estimate of his personal wealth of $4O million was “wholly inaccurate.” While he did not have an exact figure for his fortune, Mr Tait said it was much lower. “I contemplated civil action for injury caused when I fell off my chair laughing,” he said. Mr Tait is the majority shareholder in Tait Electronics, one of the biggest employers in Christchurch.
