Royal Creation looks sound prospect

Royal Creation, one of the most promising horses in the AucklandWaikato region last term, could return to racing on a high note in the Sheriff 1200 at Avondale tonight. Trained at Takanini by Kerry and Ray Verner, Royal Creation has been off the scene since running a sound fourth over 1400 m at the Maramarua meeting at Paeroa on May 30. He has been working pleasingly lately and as he seems to handle all types of footing he looks a sound prospect in tonight’s $9OOO event. The Verners have held Royal Creation in high regard since he won his debut at Thames and their judgment has proved spot-on with the son of Vice Regal going on to register four more wins and three placings. At one stage Royal Creation was being considered a Bayleys Easter (1600 m prospect, but when the race came up for contention in late March he failed to make the line-up because of a low handicap. Highly Regal is a talented sprinter and he looks the hardest for Royal Creation to beaut. He is a course winner, and, like Royal Creation, is beginning a new campaign.
