Photographic award
The Central King Country Visual Arts Trust has tnnounced two photography awards in celebration of 1990 The Young Persons Photography Award is open to anyone under 19 on April 12, 1990. There will be two awards, one for the best colour print to be known as “The Brian Brake Memorial Award” and one for the best black and white print to be known, as “The Ron Woolf Memorial Award,” commemorating two of New Zealand’s outstanding photographers, both of whom took a keen interest in encouraging photography among young people. Each award will be worth $lOOO. The second award, known as "The Golden Age Award,” is open to any person aged 60 years or over on March 2, 1990. There will be two $lOOO awards, one for the best colour print and one for the best black and white print. The theme for both awards is “Typically New Zealand.” The secretary is Michael Turner, P.O. Box 97, Taumarunui.
