Blair a cut above the rest
Blair-Morton, of Strands Hairdressers, was named top senior hairdresser at the Canterbury and Westland hairdressing championships held in Christchurch.
Aaron Rielly, of Pizazz Hair Salon, was named top apprentice. The individual award winners were: Cindy Rutter, of Ginger Meggs, apprentice blow wave; Chris Howell, of Pizazz, men’s freestyle; Sandra McLaren, Pizazz, apprentice blow wave (over 3000 hours); Heather Bishop, Strands, commercial day style; Aaron Rielly, Pizazz, apprentice commercial day style.
Chris Howell, women’s hair design; Saridra McLaren, apprentice women’s hair design; Carl Watkins, Reuben Blades, commercial evening style; Blair Morton, Strands, men’s sculpture; Carl Watkins, top model; lan Chaney, Pizazz, colour of the day; Carl Watkins, most artistic.
Judges at the championships also named the Canterbury hairdressing team that will compete for the national title to be held in Auckland during Labour Day Week-end.
The team is Traci Munroe, Chris Howell, Heather Bishop, lan
Chaney, Sandra McLaren, Rachael Whiting, Aaron Rielly, Brendon Hobson, Carl Watkins and Chris Jones.
