Concorde returning to Chch
By
DAVE WILSON
The supersonic airliner, Concorde, will return to Christchurch next month. The needle-nosed British Airways jet created interest on its first visit, in April, when it spent three days at Christchurch Airport during a 23-day round-the-world luxury charter.
The Concorde will return on October 7 and depart on October
The airport company’s chief executive, Mr George Bellew, said he understood the Concorde would again carry a charter group of affluent visitors. During the April stopover the 100 passengers holidayed in Queenstown as part of their $65,000 round-the-world tour. More than 20,000 people queued at the airport for a look at the world’s fastest airliner.
