Wedding delights daughter
Ms Judith Tizard, a daughter of the Minister of Defence, Mr Tizard, said that she was delighted for her father and Mrs Beryl Vignale, his Canadian fiancee. Mr Tizard announced on Monday that he was to retire at the next election
and marry Mrs Vignale soon. ‘‘The family was absolutely thrilled,” said Ms Tizard. ‘‘Not many people get three chances at happiness.” Mrs Vignale, who has three adult sons, will be Mr Tizard’s third wife.
Ms Tizard said no date for the wedding had been set. She assumed the couple would stay in New Zealand. The family had hoped the couple would marry since Beryl Vignale came to New Zealand on January 14.
