Betonim out
Otago correspondent Trainer Hamish Hunter has decided against starting Betonim from 50 metres behind in the C 3 event at Forbury Park on Saturday night. His decision was influenced by the race. It was programmed as a C3-OC divided handicap, but wound up with a C 3 front. “He (Betonim) is not a specialist from standing starts and he could be faced with a hard race if he added to his handicap
at the start. He had a reasonably hard race at Addington the other night,” said Hunter. Betonim, which won at Addington last Saturday, will return there for the $25,000 Avon City Ford Cup, a CB-OC free-for-all on Saturday week. Pierre Paree has rejoined the Hunter stable. He was put aside in February with slight swelling in a front leg after winning a heat of the DB Otago series for three-year-olds at Oamaru.
