Triathlon season opens
Athletes entered for next year’s Coast to Coast event will be looking forward to the first triathlon of the season this week-end, the Trevor Crowe Motors kayak, cycle run starting at the Mount Pleasant Yacht Club and fin-
ishing at the Taylor’s Mistake jfe- beach. Last year’Sfwinner of “ the event, Alan ‘(Roxburgh,
has confirmed his entry, as has the well-known triathlete, Russell Prince. This event has become more and more popular during the four years it has been run. Contestants start with a 10km kayak from the Mount Pleasant Yacht Club to the Sumner Surf Club.icycle to Ferry Road and ba<& up the
Sumner side of Evans Pass, then run out on the Godley Head Road, and along to the Taylors Mistake Road, finishing on the Taylors Mistake beach. The cycle stage is 25km and the run 11km. None of the course will be easy, particularly so early in the triathlon season.
