Daffodil sales
Thousands of daffodils passed through the market this week hailing the arrival of spring. Yellow trumpets and red cups sold well at the market this week, and most flower prices eased as is normal for this time of year, said one of the flower auctioneers. Good supplies of standard and miniature orchids were available, as were Singapore orchids which are popular for bridal wear at this time. North Island irises increased in quantities with prices ranging from $3.50 to $6 a bunch.
There are still adequate volumes of dried flowers but these should finish soon.
