Wedding rush
NZPA-AP Reno Nevada Three lovestruck couples took a break during the Great American Kiss-Off to rest their jaws — and get married. They were among six couples still contesting the SUSIO,OOO ($16,950) grand prize after going at it for 18 straight 12-hour days. Pronounced husbands and wives, the three couples began perhaps the longest post-nuptial kisses in history. The idea for the wedding was hatched last week when Lloyd Gubier, aged 23, and Laura Sue Bradley, aged 25, realised they would have to cancel their wedding plans to take part in the kiss-off. The two couples who joined them were John Castle, aged 20, and Crystal Larribas, aged 18; Jason Knapp, aged 20, and Menette McVey, aged 19. The three couples saved up five-minute break periods allowed in the contest so they could have an hour for their weddings.
