The island of Lombok is an hour's flight from Bali. This position will be funded under New Zealand's Development Assistance Programme with Indonesia and will be for a period of one year with an option to extend the commission by mutual consent. The successful appointee would be responsible for coordination of the project in three village communities, financial management, establishment and development of marketing outlets, training of local potters in design and technique, and training of trainees. Applicants must have experience and skills in primitive pottery production, accounting and financial management, staff supervision, marketing, and proven administrative skills. Successful teaching experience at high school or an adult level is necessary, it is equally essential that applicants have proven cultural sensitivity, physical fitness, an innovative yet practical outlook, and an ability to coordinate a range of activities. Proven ability with foreign languages and experience of third world countries is desirable. Terms and conditions of appointment including salary will be administered by the Ministry of External Relations and Trade.
