A Christchurch photographer, Adrienne Martyn, has combined portrait heads and architectural interiors in a strik-
ing exhibition of large black and white photographs at the Jonathan Jensen Gallery until September 9.
Several works comprise two, three, or four images butted together. Each person
expresses carefully staged moods, often contrasted with details of the setting. The photo-
grapher sets the stage: the viewer is invited to conjure up the stories. Pictured is “Presence.”
