What's New?

Elizabeth Arden has released a new mascara that combines the latest developments. Two Brush Mascara has, as the name suggests, two brushes, one at either end. A large brush builds long, thick lashes, while the small precision brush is for detail work. Add to this a new form of brush rotation (patent pending) which blends and smooths the formula to prevent clumping, and the formula itself, which contains Pro-vitamin B 5 and Keratin to strengthen and repair lashes and Quarternium 22 to moisturise lashes, and you have a very high-tech mascara. Two Brush Mascara is fragrance-free, dermatologist, clinically and allergy-tested and ophthalmologist tested. It comes in shades of Exactly Black, Black/Brown, True Blue, True Teal and Very Violet, and is available in water-based or waterproof formulations.

Estee Lauder has released a new skin-care range, Active Skin Solutions, for normal to oily combination skin. Active Skin Solutions combine tried-and-true methods with the latest technology to create products which reduce oiliness, shine and irritation without being abrasive. They are oil and fragrance-free. Their immediate action is to reduce surface oil, hydrate the skin, reduce irritation and redness and visibly smooth the skin. Their long-term action is to reduce. break-outs, control acne, make pores less visible and make skin look clearer. j Self-Foaming Facewash, a gel cleanser which lathers alone, reveals a tighter, brighter complexion with a smoother texture. Its United States-patented foaming system removes 97 per cent of pore-clogging sebum while gently exfoliating. T-Zone Solution regulates oil production continually with only one application, helping to control acne and decrease pore-size. Oil-Free HyroGel provides skin nourishment, improving suppleness, helping to prevent and reduce lines and wrinkles while also reducing oiliness and shine. Testing has shown impressive results with a month of systematic treatment.

The Baroness Guy de Rothschild and Revlon, Inc., have plans to create a new fragrance designed to epitomise elegance and sophistication, intended to "reflect the allure so characteristic of the Baroness herself.” Bom and educated in the United States, MarieHelene de Rothschild’s mother was Egyptian and her father a member of the Dutch aristocracy. She is regarded as one of the premier patrons of art and culture in France, says Revlon. Revlon plans to launch the fragrance late next year at a reception in Paris. According to Revlon, August is time to “Rethink Pink,” and the company is doing so with two new lipsticks and nail enamels and new complexion blush all under the Rethink Pink banner. Revlon describes it as a pink-with-a-twist, a pink up-dated and up-beat, elegant but playful. The complementary eyeshadow is The Sorbets Prism.
