NZPA-AFP Karachi A deaf and dumb woman died in Karachi yesterday three weeks after she was released from a psychiatric hospital where she had been detained for 50 years, hospital sources said. The woman, aged 69, who was not named, was released from the psychiatric hospital in Hyderabad, 175 km northeast of Karachi on July 9 following the intervention of the governor of southern Sind province.

The woman was arrested in Hyderabad in 1936.
