Bolger’s job on line—Moore
Public support following the Budget would now put Mr Jim Bolger’s future as National’s leader on the line, the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr Moore, said yesterday.
Mr Moore predicts the downfall of Mr Bolger and a battle for the National leadership between Miss Ruth Richardson and Mr Winston Peters. . ( Mr Moore said there was significant
support for the Budget which meant support for the Government. This would mean a drop in support for National. "I predict a significant narrowing of the gap between Labour and National in the polls, as a result of the Budget. In that event, Mr Bolger would not be able to hold out against Mr Peters. However, Mr Peters did not have the substance to withstand long, public and party scrutiny, hesaid. . -
