Fast lubrication service offered

Jiffy Lube, offering a new concept in vehicle lubrication services, will officially open its first New Zealand operation tomorrow at 10 a.m. Situated at the corner of Fitzgerald Avenue and Hereford Street, Jiffy Lube promises to provide a.fast and convenient oil change and lubrication service. For $59.95 (including GST), a motor vehicle is completely serviced using top-grade

lubricants in less than 15 minutes. No appointment is necessary and in addition to the lubrication and fluid servicing, Jiffy Lube will also vacuum the inside, wash the windscreen and polish the tyres. Jiffy Lube is an international organisation established in the United States during the 1970 s when service stations started selling only fuel

and leaving other traditional garage services to specialist centres. Jiffy Lube’s founder, Mr Jim Hindman, saw potential for a fast lubrication service to complement specialised tyre centres, tune-up centres, brake specialists and others. Jiffy Lube New Zealand was formed last January and is registered as South Pacific Lubrication, Ltd. Christchurch was chosen as the site for the first Jiffy Lube shop. Mr Jon Harvey, the managing director of Jiffy Lube New Zealand, expects Jo have 25 Jiffy Lube shops opened in New Zealand within three years.

“There is tremendous potential in New Zealand for a fast lubrication service,” Mr Harvey says. “Jiffy Lube has been very successful in Australia and we believe that Christchurch people will appreciate our convenient and'quality service.”
