Mixed results
Two blocks of land totalling 5.75 hectares, acres), were passed in at $92,000 and $77,000 when offered at auction on Friday, July 14 at 2.15 p.m. The auction was conducted at Real Estate House by Mr Tim Templeton of Matson and Allan Real Estate, Ltd, M.R.E.I.N.Z. The two blocks are both placed on Sparks and Sutherlands roads frontages and are asserted to be ideally suited for cattle fattening, cropping or market gardening. In addition with close proximity to the city fringe and access to all amenities the blocks are regarded as good investments. The larger block is 3.0472 hectares, the smaller 2.7012 hectares. ;./■.
The total block carries a 1987 G.V. of $90,000. A total of 23 people attended the auction where “average” bidding was reported. After the blocks were passed in at :$70,000, and $55,000 an individual negotiation for both blocks' of land was initiated. "The Elms” at 316 Centaurus Road sold “under the hammer” for $174,000 at auction on Friday, July 14. The auctioneer, Mr Bryan Dobson, of Sherris and Robertson,’ M.R.E.I.N.Z. reported extremely brisk bidding mainly from two parties. ,i The property features three living rooms, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a modern kitchen. The section.is 45 perches.
