The Dairy Company owns and operates 30 dairy farms (9000 cows) in Southland, North Otago and Canterbury. The Christchurch Head Office has a staff of 8 with regional and farm staff of 50. The Company’s evolution has been rapid since its formation under one year ago and it is already the largest dairy farming operation in the country. We are seeking applications for the position as General Manager of the Apple Fields Dairy Company Limited. This appointment coincides with the subsidiary becoming a fully autonomous operation, and the position will report directly to the Executive Directors of the parent company. This position is part of the top management within the parent company’s over-all structure and the successful applicant will be required to possess sufficient management experience at this level, and be capable of planning and implementing further expansion. This appointment presents an exciting opportunity for a full and vigorous input into the general management of a young company which is emerging as one of the leaders in the rural based economic recovery. We are seeking applicants that not only possess the prerequisite experience and appropriate maturity but also have a high level of vigorous initiative. The opportunity exists to develop a progressive management style within an enthusiastic team who are not bound by tradition.
