NZPA London New Zealand began its build-up to the World Games netball tournament with an impressive double-header against two provincial-strength teams in Bedford yesterday. New Zealand, which will defend its title in Karlsruhe, West Germany, next week, beat the Bedfordshire county side, 45-13, then accounted for the Roos, a side comprising former England internationals, 52-15. The tourists, having their first match practice since arriving last Friday, made certain of comfortable wins with strong first-half performances. Against Bedfordshire, New Zealand bolted to a 23-3 lead at the interval, while the Roos were trailing 24-6 at half-time in the second of the two 40minute matches. April leremia and Julie Carter shared the goalshooting duties against Bedfordshire, missing just five of 26 attempts in the second half.
