Private nursing practices promote wellness

Around the country, several nurses and nurses’ groups are setting up independent nursing practices — outside the hospitals and medical centres system. Their practices are as different as the communities they serve, but all offer a variety of nursing skills and focus on health and wellness, rather than on illness and its treatment. Tomorrow, July 11, Annette Milligan, of the Nelson Independent Nursing practice will lead a seminar on setting up an independent practice. This is being sponsored by the Nurse-care group which is planning to develop a nursing practice in Christchurch. All nurses are warmly welcomed to this seminar, to be held in room H 137 of Christchurch Polytechnic’s nursing studies department, from m 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Admission is $l5. For more information contact Pauline Peterson at 844-794 this evening, or at 798-150, ext. 8216 during the day.
