Two car sightings in Cardno inquiry
PA Wellington The Lower Hutt police have had two reported possible sightings of a car they believe may be involved in the disappearance of Karla Cardno. Detective Senior-Sergeant John Marsden said a 1974 Chrysler Valiant Regal was in the Taita shopping area on Friday, May 26, and in the Pencarrow area on May 27 and 28. It is bronze with a cream vinyl roof and has a white roof rack. The police have found the car, but Detective Senior-Sergeant Marsden said he wanted to hear from anyone who might have seen it either in the Hutt Valley or at Pencarrow between May 26 and 28. The police investigation into the disappearance of Karla has now entered its fifth week. Detective Senior-Sergeant Marsden said yesterday that police were interviewing again about 300 people who had been at the Taita Shopping Centre on the night Karla disappeared.
