Mortgage deals for 180?
Landcorp expects to have finalised deals for about half the 360 farm mortgages it is selling by the end of June. The process was taking longer than expected, said the general manager of Landcorp Management Services, Ltd, Mr Bob Austin. This was because many of the mortgagor farmers had decided to
take advantage of Landcorp’s offer of free consultancy services. By the end of June, it was expected that about 180 farmers would have deals finalised, and the corporation would be working on the remaining cases soon. Mr Austin said it was not yet possible to say how many farmers would be unable to refinance.
