Financial planning firm expands
A Christchurch-based independent financial planning company, Optima Financial, Ltd, is joining forces with Queensland based planner, Trident Securi-
ties, Ltd, in a major expansion of operations in New Zealand. Under the arrangement Optima has changed its name to Trident Securities, Ltd, and the expan-
sion will be under the Trident banner. However, majority shareholding and voting rights will be retained in New Zealand hands. The move will allow the Christchurch based planner to open offices in Auckland and Wellington as well as proceed with innovative product developments. Trident Australia’s managing director, Bryan Grehan, said that his com-
pany was delighted to be associated with Optima, and saw many mutual benefits flowing to clients of both organisations. “We feel that our corporate philosophies are very compatible, and that we already operate on similar guidelines. “Both Optima and Trident are totally independent planners, have a strong allegiance to the accounting and legal fra-
ternity, and are very much service driven. “Optima people are also committed to maintaining the impartiality of their advice, something which Trident also sees as crucial. “Both Optima and Trident take a counter-cycli-cal investment approach and see the current uncertainty in New Zealand financial markets as presenting opportunities for development.”
