BIRSS, George Shaw — On June 23, 1989 (peacefully), at St John of God Hospital, beloved husband of the late Alice (Allie), brother-in-law of Ethel Massey (Mosgiel), and friend of Olive and Rod McCaw. No flowers, please. Our special thanks to the doctor concerned and the sisters, nurses and staff of St John of God, for their devoted care of George. BLAKELY, Esmec Lillian (Sally) — On June 23, 1989, at North Shore Hospital, Auckland, dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Justine and Terry Sanders, Jose, Margot, Phillipa, Warrick Grieve, Stuart and Gillian, and loved Da of her 12 grandchildren.
