Union reinstatement sought
A former New Brighton senior rugby player, Tony Fonotla,' who has played rugby league in recent seasons, has applied for reinstatement to rugby union. The Canterbury R.F.U. will forward his application to the New Zealand Union for consideration. ' Seven New Brighton senior players — Andrew Thom, Chris Evans, Steven Muir, Mark Lanyon, Darren Kaan, Craig Hubert and Kazu Nara — had applications from regrading to senior B approved at the Canterbury union’s management committee meeting on Tuesday evening. Neil Blanchfield reported that 612 requests involving 970 programmes was the highly satisfactory result from the “armchair programme” promotion which
