Customers benefit from direct selling
Christchurch Cargo King manager, Mr Jeff Walker, says that direct selling must be good for the public and the two Christchurch warehouses have something for everyone. “Since our Riccarton warehouse opened in June last year, business has increased markedly. We have new lines arriving all the time which means our clients will
always find something new.” Cargo King products are mostly directly imported. Some are imported regularly, but others are specials which may not be repeated. “Our world-wide buyers purchase anywhere where the right product is being sold for the right price,” Mr Walker says. “For example, at pre-
sent we have a range of genuine leather jackets in the latest Italian style. We managed to tag on to a large European order which meant we were able to sell them at attractive prices. The jackets are available in both unisex and female styles.” A large display caters for those wanting to store audio tapes, compact discs and videotapes. These are very popular and are guaranteed to solve storage problems. The video cabinet has space for up to 20 tapes. Also popular is the assortment of Indian brass planters which can enhance any indoor area. And for the kitchen, Cargo King has almost anything from can openers through to meat thermometers. An extensive range of sports and travel bags include the Bon Voyage brand as well as a special Cargo King brand. There are also children’s back packs, mesh bags and leather patch bags. From France, there are the popular Arcoroc products including the glass coffee mugs and casserole dishes. Twentypiece Octime dinner sets in black and white are competitively priced. Other attractive dinner sets include the Trisa
porcelain products recently imported from China.
From Pakistan, Cargo King imports a wide range of Manchester towels including guest towels, bath towels, large bath sheets and face cloths, in matching colours.
“Our towels are excellent quality and represent extremely good value,” Mr Walker says. Anyone wanting to keep fit while remaining indoors at home may be. interested in the exercycles. High quality and with many features, these exercycles are ideal for the whole family. The unit is also designed for easy storage.
With prices being competitive throughout the retail trade, Mr Walker says it is difficult to estimate exactly how much shoppers will save at Cargo King. Some products may be just below retail prices while others may be discounted by 50 per cent or more.
The two Christchurch Cargo King Warehouses are at 70 Riccarton Road and at 43 Main North Road in Papanui.
Riccarton has a late night on Thursday and Papanui has its late night on Friday. Both warehouses are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
