PA Wellington Fletcher Construction has been ranked sixth-largest general building contractor in the United States in a listing of that country’s top construction companies. Fletcher earned the placing in "ENR" magazine’s latest rankings as a result of 5U5956.6 million (SNZI.7 billion) worth of new general building contracts secured in 1988 by its three American subsidiaries — Honolulubased Pacific Construction Company, Ltd, Seattle-head-quartered Wright Schuchart, and California-based Dinwiddle Construction Company. That performance makes Fletcher Construction U.S.A, the largest foreign-owned general building contractor in the United States.
In another “ENR” magazine listing based on all contracts secured in 1988 — including heavy engineering and project management work — Fletcher Construction U.S.A, was ranked twenty-first, with a new work total of SUSIII6 million.
