ICI N.Z. Wellcome exchange contracts
PA Wellington ICI New Zealand and Wellcome have exchanged contracts with United Statesbased International Minerals and Chemical Corp, for the IMC Group to acquire Coopers Animal Health N.Z., Ltd. The business is jointly owned by ICI and Wellcome. Consideration for the sale is £17.2 million (about SNZ47 million) of which 51 per cent is receivable by ICI New Zealand and 49 per cent by Wellcome. Contracts have also been exchanged in Britain and Australia in respect of other Coopers companies, with the result that IMC has acquired the world-wide Coopers Group for its wholly owned animal health and nutrition subsidiaries. Coopers Animal Health N.Z. employs 260 people and their terms and conditions of employment will be substantially similar to those now in effect, ICI said.
