NZPA-AAP Sydney New South Wales Corrective Services Minister, Mr Michael Yabsley, yesterday announced a departmental inquiry into a performance of Les Girls, the Kings Cross all-male review, staged for prisoners inside Long Bay . jail. Mr Yabsley said he was appalled at the performance and. would be taking steps to ensure it never happened again. The two-hour performance by scantily-clad dancers took place before 100 Long Bay inmates last week, yesterday’s “Sun Herald” newspaper reported. The performance was organised by senior Corrective Services officers at the jail, it said. Mr Yabsley vowed to "make damn sure this sort of thing never happens again. We are not running an outside entertainment facility.” “We are running a prison system and taking Les Giris to Long Bay is not an appropriate part of running a prison system.”
