Decision ‘right thing’
Maintaining the minimum drinking age at 20 will save the lives of 11 drivers aged 18 and 19 a year, says a community health group, Together Ending Alcohol Misuse (T.E.A.M.). A worker with the group, Mr Tom Bulger,
said Parliament had avoided the “trendy” option and had done the right thing with regard to the Sale of Liquor Bill.
“As a result, grieving parents will make fewer trips to the cemetery this year,” he said.
