An innovative springing system
The First Floor sells the full range of Tattersfield innerspring beds. Tattersfield has been making conventional innerspring beds for more than 70 years. During the last four years, Tattersfield has introduced the continuous posture springing system to New Zealand. This is a j strong, resilient springing system built from rows of woven springing which is linked together to form one continuous spring unit inside specially designed edge bands. This technology produces a strong, light mattress, eliminates lateral spring movement and extends spring and mattress life.
All Tattersfield beds with the continuous posture springing system have been awarded the “Designmark” for the development of innovative bed technology. The company makes three styles using this method. The ’ “Royal
Manor” is constructed from latex rubber, thick, heavy-duty insulating pads and the continuous posture springing system. It sits on a deep divan base and is made in single, double and queen sizes. The "Slumberpaedic” has been designed for people with back problems. It gives resilient support, combining the springing system with edge to edge support. The “Apollo” has been designed to relieve the body’s pressure points. It has a deep, quilted foam polyester fibre combination, giving a sleeping surface which moulds itself to body shape. It has strong fibre insulating pads, the springing system and edge to edge support. Tattersfield makes a range of conventional innersprings — “Caress,” “Chiropaedic” and “Dreamweaver”. “Caress” is for those who like a softer innerspring bed. The
stretch knit covering is quilted through thick foam to give body support. It has foam comfort layers, heavy-duty insulating pads, a spring unit and the edge to edge wire support system. The “Chiropaedic” is for people with back problems or for those who like extra support. The mattress has a specially designed spring unit, giving buoyant non-sagging support.
The “Dreamweaver” combines an innerspring unit with an edge to edge wire support, with thick insulating pads to spread weight evenly. The top features foam layers and a micro-quilted cover. All the beds have deep matching bases. Tattersfield’s South Island manager, Mr Bob Chatfield, will be in the store today and tomorrow to talk about the product. Tattersfield is displaying with Keruse and Gairdner, a range of brass and iron bedsteads.
