Only one attacker sought
The police believe one man may be responsible for two robbery-motivated attacks on women in Avonside during the last month.
On Monday evening a woman confronted a man, aged in his 20s, at the back door of her River Road home.
He grabbed her and demanded money, but took off when she screamed. The woman was pushed to the ground, but was not hurt.-
"During our inquiries we have been told a man fitting a similar description assaulted another woman in River Road about a month ago. It was wasn’t reported,” said Detective Senior-Sergeant Colin Dalzell. He is described as a European, or pale-skinned Maori, 167 cm (sft 6fn) tall, short dark hair, moustache, and wearing a fawn wool jersey.
