Residents enjoy lifestyle
Three residents living at Mansfield Gardens retirement complex are enthusiastic about their lifestyle there.
“I love living here; everyone is marvellous to me,” says Mrs Esme Stevens, who moved into Mansfield Gardens when
her home became too big for her and her husband was ill.
After she moved in, she broke her arm and received “the best of care and attention.”
Her family come and see her often. Mrs Marie Tothill, a well-known Christchurch
potter, moved in last Christmas. She was ill and her family were concerned about her.
“I am a different person now with so much care,” she says. She is able to go out to visit her potting friends and enjoys potting still, though it is now just a hobby.
Mrs Mavis Douglas moved in three months ago. Her home and garden had become too big
for her to manage. “There were too many leaves to sweep up,” she says.
Her family, who live out of town, are happy to
know that care is close by if needed. She drives a car and enjoys her independent lifestyle.
“Mansfield Gardens has a pleasant atmosphere,” she says, and she especially appreciates Sunday lunch with Dr Savage, his wife and family.
