Y.M.C.A. clubs offer activities
The Y.M.C.A.’s youth clubs begin this week for term two, offering a variety of activities for children aged eight years and over. The association’s outdoors and youth director, Ms Roz Service, said participants were sought for the Junior Y Club, aged eight to 10, the Pathfinders, 11 to 14 years, and the Live Y’ers, 15 years and over. The Junior Y Club in particular was in need of a boost. Some of the activities it offers include a pet day and learning to read braille. The Pathfinders Club involves fun recreational
activities that encourage individual development and learning new skills. Its programme for term two will include caving, learning to make a video and visiting the Muslim Mosque. Ms Service said the Live Y’ers Club was a leadership and social group which met every Wednesday evening, with tuition sessions covering topics such as life skills and leadership skills. Some members volunteer their time to help with Y.M.C.A. programmes. For further information on any of the clubs, call the Y.M.C.A.
