A case of conflicting loyalties
Jacko (played by Rima Te Wiata) is at the centre of tonight’s “Shark In The Park” story on One. She is in the situation that every member of the police force dreads — a family member is in trouble with the law. For Jacko it is a young cousin from out of town who has been picked up off the streets. It looks
very much as if she is involved with drugs and prostitution. Jacko is torn between loyalty to the family and loyalty to the force — how far can she go to help a naive young girl before it is too late? As unlikely as it may seen she finds an ally in Bernie Gregory, a man who knows a thing or two about the seedier side of
life. While all this is going on Inspector Finn and Sergeant Jesson are heading for a showdown — Finn has been increasingly trampling on Jesson’s patch and Jesson is determined to have it out with him. Finn himself is feeling resentful about his lot in life. He has an old friend
from the C. 1.8. in town and cannot help feeling a little jealous of his friend’s career path while he is stuck in uniform. Charlie Strachan penned tonight’s story, which is directed by Lex van Os. Jacko’s cousin Mary is played by Tania Wehi and Finn’s friend, Graham Purchase, by Bruce de Grut.
