McGrath named Solicitor-General

PA Wellington Mr John McGrath, Q.C., will be the next SolicitorGeneral, succeeding Mr Paul Neazor, Q.C., who will become a High Court judge, the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, announced yesterday. Mr McGrath is Chancellor of Victoria University. He will take over from Mr Neazor at the end of the

month. Mr McGrath was educated at Wanganui Collegiate School and Victoria University. He was admitted to the Bar as a barrister and solicitor in 1968. He was a partner in the law firm, Buddle Anderson Kent and Company, then in Buddle Findlay, until he became Chancellor of Victoria University.
