Art attacked
The creator of a photograph of a crucified Christ submerged in urine said yesterday his critics were flattering the work by criticising it. The creator of “Piss Christ,” Andres Serrano, was a winner in the Awards in the Visual Arts, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Equitable Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. The American Family Association said yesterday that tax dollars should not have gone towards the $NZ25,000 award.—Jackson.
