Innocent man freed
A Florida judge has overturned the murder conviction of a former farm worker who was jailed for 21 years in connection with the poisoning deaths of his seven children. Judge Clifton Kelly 8 ordered the immediate release of James Richardson, aged 53 ruling that he did not receive a fair trial in 1968 Richardson’s lawyers had contended he was framed when he was convicted for the murder of one of his seven children, all of whom died from eating the same poisoned meal of pork and peas. The defence lean’ contended that a babysitter wi&s responsible for the poisonings.—Arcadia, Florida.
