Forum needs group leaders
An army of moderatorfacilitators to lead the discussion groups at the Going for Goals forum is being sought by one of the organisers, Mr Oily Ohlson.
“The more we can get, the smaller the groups can be,” he explained to last evening’s public meeting on the project. “If you are going to get 2000 people there, that means I need 200 facilitators,” he said.
With many smaller groups, more ideas could be brought forward. The job for facilitators was to prepare the way for people to take part in the discussions.
They had to create an atmosphere where people felt safe, and felt that it was all right to make comments and that they would not be put down.
He said he planned to run a workshop for facilitators before the Queen’s Birthday week-end forum.
