Jockeys fined
PA Dunedin' Terry Kennedy, a Wingatui jockey, was fined $3OO for careless riding at the Otago Racing Club’s meeting on Tuesday. Kennedy was fined for allowing his mount, Fiesta Point, to shift in when not sufficiently clear at the 600 metres and check Fly Baby in The Countdown Foodmarkets. Tommy Hazlett was fined $2OO for careless riding in the Choysa Tea Steeplechase. The judicial committee found that he allowed his mount Double Acre to shift in after the water jump, the third last fence, and take the line of Magic Eagle. A charge against Hazlett, shifting in and hampering Magic Eagle after the second last fence, was dismissed.
