Qualifiers dead-heat
Besta Dream and My Reality dead-heated in the fastest qualifying pace at the Motukarara trials yesterday, clocking 3:14.9 for the 2400 m.
The former, a three-year-old Besta Fella filly from Ciara (Petro Star family), is trained at Ladbrooks by Colin de Filippi for Roger and Jenny Barron.
My Reality (2 g Roydon Albatross — Knowing Dream), is prepared at West Melton by Peter Yeatman.
Others to qualify over 2400 m were: Ranfurly (2 c Smooth Fella — Roweshell) in 3:18.4; Viewfinder (3 g Noodlum — Light View) in 3:19; Meadow Ledge ( 3 g Plat du Jour — Bay Meadow) in 3:15.8; Mid Off (4 g Midshipman — Buzz Off) in 3:16.4; and Sporting Knight (3 g Transport Chip — Twelfth Knight) in 3:15.5.
Trotters to qualify over 2600 m were the Murray Edmonds-trained Gaelic King ( 2 c Sovereign — Gaelic Abbe) in 3:20.6, only .6 of a second outside the juvenile trotters’ record for the distance; and Fagean Princess ( 4 m Game Way — Miss Megan) in 3:23.9.
