U.F.O. believers came down to earth with a bump when it was revealed one of their prize sightings was a hoax. The famous image of a flying saucer over Barnsley, Yorkshire was just a transfer stuck onto a window, members of the British U.F.O. Research Association were told at a special seminar. The U.F.O. was photographed by a Barnsley man, Peter Beard, in 1987 and made newspaper headlines all over the country. But complex computer analysis of the negatives in an American laboratory has just revealed the photographs were of transfer stickers cleverly placed in different positions on a window, the seminar in Bradford heard.
