Obituary Mr T. A. Scott
PA Auckland Mr Tom Amos Scott, a former news editor of the "Auckland Star,” has died, aged 77.
Mr Scott started his journalism career in England on the “Newcastle Journal” and the “Evening Chronicle” before emigrating to New Zealand in 1953 and working for
the “Auckland Star” as a sub-editor. He became chief sub-editor in the 19605. He became news editor by the early 19705, where he played a key role in revamping the newspaper’s layout and news presentation before his retirement in 1976.
