Flowers in good supply
A wide variety of flowers this week and next means increased supplies at the market but flower auctioneers do not expect a long season because of the unpredictable weather. The recent warm weather had forced an earlier rush of such flowers as Chrysanthemum sprays and standards and carnation sprays and standards in all colours. But, in line with the usual seasons this year, supplies are likely to dwindle within a fortnight. Supplies of spring flowers in Sol’d’ors and Roma were more plentiful this week, as were ferns, conifer and white nerines. Pink nerines are just about finished.
There is a good general selection of other varieties of flowers available.
