Stipendiary steward to appeal
PA Hastings The stipendiary steward, Gavin Whiterod, has appealed against a Wood-ville-Pahiatua Racing Club decision to suspend , the apprentice jockey, ,|Kim Clapperton, two
riding days, saying the penalty is too light. Clapperton, the rider of Mar’s Fury in the Riverbank Maiden at Woodville on April 4, finished first but caused severs interference to the second-
placed horse, Lord Tara, and the unplaced Challen Bay. Mar’s Fury was disqualified and Lord Tara promoted to first. The appeal will be heard at Hastings on Friday.
