Maxwell in bid
NZPA-Reuter Jerusalem British publisher, Mr Robert Maxwell, and Canadian investors headed by Mr Charles Bronfman, will make a joint bid for Israel’s Eng-lish-language daily, the “Jerusalem Post,” said a spokesman for the two men. Mr Maxwell, chairman of Maxwell Communication Corporation, and Bronfman’s t Claridge group are bidding for the controlling 55 per cent stake in the “Post,” put up for sale by a unit of Israel’s troubled Koor Industries. “It’s a powerful partnership in terms of what it can do for the ‘Post’,” an aide to Maxwell said. Australia’s Pratt Group had previously been cited as a potential bidder for the newspaper.
